Dr. M. Khalid Riaz is a co-founder and current Chairman of the Human Development Foundation. He has also served as Co-Chair of HDF North America from 1997-2007. He has been recognized in a Georgetown University Publication as one of the “500 Most Influential Muslims in the World” for his work in promoting development in Pakistan. A graduate of King Edward Medical College, Dr. Riaz is an interventional cardiologist by profession. He has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest Physicians. He has served as Chair of the Cardiovascular Division and President at Sherman Hospital in Illinois USA. He has been named as one of the “Top Doctors in Chicago” by Chicago Magazine and as one of the “Top Doctors in America” by US News and World Report. Dr. Riaz has also served as President of APPNA, Board of Advisors at American Pakistan Foundation, Co-Founder Pakistan Political Action Committee (Pak-PAC), and Co-Founder APPNA Sehat.

Lt. Gen Abbasi is a member of HDF’s Board of Directors where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Executive Committee. Over a distinguished 36-year military career he has held multiple senior appointments including serving as Chief of Logistics Staff (CLS) and as Commander XXX Corps. For his meritorious service he was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (HiM), the highest medal awarded to officers of his rank by the Government of Pakistan. After retirement, he served as Chief Executive and Managing Director of FFBL Ltd., a major publicly listed agri-business conglomerate which produces more than 45% of the entire nations DAP Fertilizer demand.

Dr. Atiya Khan is Chairperson of Human Development Foundation North America (HDFNA) and founding member of HDF, Pakistan. A member of Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (MD-FAAP) and Diplomate of American Board of Pediatrics (DABP), she is a practicing pediatrician in Columbia, Maryland. She has the privilege of serving as a faculty member at John Hopkins Hospital, Department of Pediatric Oncology. She has been rendering her services as the Member of Association of Physicians of Pakistani of North America (APPNA).

Air Marshal (Retd.) Riazuddin Shaikh is Chairman of Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) as well as Chairman of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP). He is also member of Steering Committee, Benazir Housing scheme, Government of Sindh and Ex-member BOD, Pakistan Chemical and Energy Sector Skills Development Corporation (PCESSDC) Daharki – Aegis Engro Pakistan. His career achievements include his services as Deputy Chief of Air Staff, Air Officer Commanding PAF, Inspector and Deputy Inspector General PAF and the Base Commander PAF. He graduated in MSc War Studies from Ecole Militaire Paris, France in 1986.

Mr. Arshad Bhatti

Arshad Bhatti holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from the London School of Economics. He is a former civil servant, a writer, social worker, consultant, and an artist. Mr. Bhatti is an expert on education and is an independent consultant who has worked with several NGOs and was a member of the Pakistan Education Task Force. He has also designed various advocacy campaigns, and regularly writes in the major newspapers of Pakistan. Arshad Bhatti also owns and runs a café which promotes dialogue, poetry, music and art. He is a published poet and an experienced public policy consultant.

Maj Gen (R) Dr. Farrukh Seir

Maj Gen (R) Dr. Farrukh Seir has served as Deputy Surgeon General in Pakistan Army, Director of Academics and Admissions and Dean of Faculty at Khyber Medical University Peshawar, as well as director of Postgraduate studies in Medical Institute Rawalpindi. He has remained Chief Executive of tertiary care teaching hospitals of Pakistan Army and member of Board of Studies Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He also served as member of Executive Commission HEC, National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and member of Board of Governor of Sir Syed Academy for Special Education, Rawalpindi. Dr. Seir has more than 25 reports and publications to his name, presented and published at national level institutions.

Mr. Rizwan Shoukat is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Shoukat is a senior executive with strong leadership experience in strategy development and implementation; and a keen understanding of the corporate and the development world. He is a certified six sigma practitioner who possesses senior level knowledge in steering/directing large-scale projects, human resource development, project management and knowledge management processes, risk mitigation and delivering best-fit business solutions. He has a proven track record in improving efficiencies, reducing costs, increasing revenues, and strategic initiation of new ventures. He has created telecom consulting practice for the emerging markets while winning business with world renowned network operators and creating clients for life.
