HDF Planted 2000 Trees in a Plantation Drive in Islamabad in Partnership with Capital Development Authority (CDA)Offsetting the Impact of Climate Change to Achieve SDG 15: Life on Land.
In Pakistan, the rapidly emerging climate change is expected to have wide-ranging impacts, disrupting its economy and derailing lives. These effects, which cost our people and our communities dearly, will continue to multiply if left unchecked. According to German Watch, Pakistan has been ranked globally in the top ten countries most affected by climate change in the past 20 years owing to its geographical location.
In an attempt to improve the landscape and living environment of our country, HDF honours its 25th Anniversary pledge to plant 2.5 lacs trees in the year 2022 under our Sustainable Environment Program by organizing yet another tree plantation drive in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad. To achieve SDG: 15 Life on Land, HDF School Islamabad planted 2000 trees on March 25th, 2022 including 800 Kachnar Trees, and 600 each of Jacaranda and Sukh Chain Trees in Sector E-10, alongside Margalla Road. The skilful choice of trees leads to a stimulus environment, these trees are not only fast-growing but also adapt well to adverse climatic and soil conditions.
