Pakistan declared a national climate emergency, amidst torrential monsoon rains wreaking havoc across the country, particularly in Balochistan and Sindh province. With over a third of the country under water, the climate change-induced sea level rise and heavy downpours have caused deadly flash floods. This unprecedented calamity has reportedly claimed the lives of 937 people, including 343 children, and left at least 30 million in need of emergency shelter, with no respite from nature on the horizon. The country's agricultural heartland has also been devastated, with rice, corn, and wheat crops destroyed by floods, causing huge economic losses. Humanitarian organizations are struggling to cope with the scope of the widespread scale of the disaster, as flood waters are still on the rise further ravaging the country into an alarming state. This is by far the country's worst flood since 1929, according to officials.
Your donations will help us reach millions of people affected by Pakistan's worst flooding in 80 years.

Your donations will help HDF in its mission to bring quality education to remote classrooms.
Students in far-flung and remote classrooms either lack textbooks altogether or are required to share them extensively with fellow classmates. In the current economics of learning, textbooks constitute indispensable tools for building knowledge-based communities. They remain the most flexible and far-reaching medium for knowledge-sharing, especially in areas with no mobile connectivity and internet access. Without textbooks, children can spend many of their school hours copying content from the blackboard, which severely reduces the time for engaged learning. The cost of learning materials is a key barrier that prevents children from having access to education. Therefore, access to appropriate learning materials e.g. textbooks is listed as a key strategy to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all under the Sustainable Development Goal on education (SDG: 4).
As a not-for-profit organization, our efforts are sustained by the generous donations received from our patrons year on year. Sponsor access to textbooks for a child for a year or become a recurring donor empowering thousands of students to reach their potential. This easy and rewarding task can have a profound and lasting impact on the economic, social, and cultural development of underserved communities.
