HDF-NA Seattle Network Organized a Successful Donor Dinner Whereby More Than Hundred Thousand Dollars Funds were Raised for Water-Scarce Areas

Human Development Foundation of North America (HDF-NA) Seattle Network organized a successful donor dinner event at Lunchbox Lab, Seattle on March 04, 2022. Seattle community has been actively partnering with HDF for programs & interventions for over two decades. HDF Seattle Network team is led by Mr. Munir Rizvi & Dr. Tabassum Saeed. Ms. Fatima Hussain, Managing Director HDF-NA, joined the event to share details of HDF’s work with the attendees and undertake fundraising for the water plants.

The long-term relationship of Seattle community and HDF has provided full support to the need of the hour such as special relief services for Oct 2005 Earthquake in AJK in close coordination by Seattle community & Pakistan Association of Greater Seattle (PAGS). PAGS raised $600,000 and 02 aircrafts full of relief supplies were sent. With the support of the community 1,000 households benefitted from the relief & rehabilitation efforts.

Additionally, HDF Seattle Network’s earlier significant contributions include establishment of a girl’s school at Bugna, Azad Jammu Kashmir providing education to 500 students who were displaced because of the earthquake.

In the year 2021, HDF Seattle Network funded two Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration Plants at Union Council 45-P Tehsil Khanpur, District Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab and Village Dabbho, Union Council Sobhyar, Tehsil Diplo, District Tharparkar, Sindh.

The Seattle community appraised HDF’s work by Ms. Fatima Hussain, Managing Director HDF-NA, and a successful fundraising was conducted for the water plants whereby $129,850 funds were raised including the matching from the employer organizations. Our donor community is committed to support HDF in its mission to eradicate multi-dimensional poverty from Pakistan, by giving, year on year.
