Protecting Global Ecosystems to Support Health & Wellbeing, Now & in the Future

HDF Karachi jointly celebrated the International Day of Forests 2022: themed “Forests & Sustainable Production & Consumption” & World Water Day themed “Groundwater, Making the Invisible Visible” on March 22, 2022.

The program encouraged students, teachers & parents to undertake activities such as speeches, tablos in an effort to connect the children with nature making future generations conscious of the importance of conserving water and the restoration and sustainable management of forests. The students also made models on sustainable production and consumption that were displayed and presented to guests comprehensively.

Chief Guest Mr. Usama Anwer, Divisional Chief Conservator of Forests, Mangroves, & Rangelands Department, Government of Sindh awarded a cash prize to winner of the speech contest and students who created a model on organic food – a long-term solution resulting in less soil and water pollution, a decreased reliance on oil-based fertilizers and pesticides, greater biodiversity, and less greenhouse gas emissions.
